It certainly has no where near the features that are in but as long as you could use the printer with HPT, this worked fine for me. up to 99 terminal or printer emulation sessions of any type in any combination. If you're looking to eliminate the license, you could try an open source tool, such as TN5250 - the printer support in this tool worked well for my specific needs. I highly recommend getting a print server type of attachment, though. they always were very knowledgable about the different ways to interface the printers. I get that client access is a lot more than an implementation of the telnet 5250 protocol, while mochasoft, tn5250, tn5250j, x5250, etc are just greenscreen (and maybe printer) clients. ![]() If you're using label software like TL Ashford's, you could ask them. RE: Mocha TN5250 connects but not Client Access - I don't understand why Client Access would need any ports besides the telnet port to give you a greenscreen session. This was a lot less hassle than going through a Windows PC. At the time that we purchased the software, it was 25 per license. ![]() The technical support is great, and the cost is minimal. But, there was a little device that you could buy for your printer that allowed it to just hook straight into an Ethernet network and then you could print to it direct from the IBM i. MochaSoft tn5250 MochaSoft provides a 5250 emulator that you can easily install on Macintosh computers. This was 6 or 7 years ago, and I don't work there anymore, so I don't remember the exact details. The way we did our Zebra printers was with a print server. ![]()
